Stormcast Eternals Vindicators

Stormcast Eternals 2022 September

Bronze in C4-Open, Malmö, Sweden, 2022

6 Stormcast Eternals from the Warrior Edition set which also include KruleBoyz

Warhammer - Age of Sigmar

I bought the Warrior Starter Set summer 2022, my first ever tabletop figurine game, as I have been curious for some time now of what it is all about and I enjoy playing other types of tabletop games (brädspel) and painting miniatures - why not combine the two?

First impression - really fun to build from the sprue and the miniatures have crisp details which makes it easier to paint.

Second impression - this will dig a whole in my wallet...

Above an Azyrite Signifier (Vindicator / Standard bearer) and a Knight-Arcanum with a Valedictor's Stave, that are painted with acrylics (incl. metal paint) from Green Stuff World.

The bases were to plain to my liking, so I added some extra details as cobblestone pattern out of clay and some green stuff to make it more "natural"-looking and not plastic.

Finished!  (almost)

The Stormcast Eternals are now painted and looking good. I really enjoy how I managed to get the blue color to stand out and yet blends well with the gold color.

An idea poped up, why not make a base for the Stormcasts to rest upon when not in battle... lets bring out the XPS foam!

Carved out a large rock out of XPS foarm, then mark where to place the Stormcasts.

Ensuring to carv out enough so the figurine can be easily removed and replaced.

Adding plaster to the base.

Primed with Mod Podge and black acrylic paint.

A dead tree was also to be added after a vote on instagram (alternative was a living tree).

The tree is made out of several steel wires that are twisted into different shapes.

Adding hot glue to thicken up tree trunk and branches.

Mixing Mod Podge and Acrylic Paste, to be dabbed on the tree to remove the hot glue "shine"

With the Mod Podge / Acrylic Paste

Weathering done to the base, and tree.

Adding details to the base. 3D printed celtic cross
