Hanging with the Boyz
Hanging with the Boyz 2022 November
I used six Kruleboyz from the Warrior Edition set which also include Stormcast Eternals
Killaboss
Stab-grot
Gutrippa Boss
Two Gutrippaz
Several 3D printed details, XPS foam, plasticard and diorama materials. And also hand made body parts made by my friend Veronica also known as @Florescentia.grotesque on instagram (which I am soo happy with - please check her out, she is a brilliant artist!)
Base size 25 x 15 cm
Warhammer - Age of Sigmar
I bought the Warrior Starter Set summer 2022, my first ever tabletop figurine game, as I have been curious for some time now of what it is all about and I enjoy playing other types of tabletop games (brädspel) and painting miniatures - why not combine the two?
First impression - really fun to build from the sprue and the miniatures have crisp details which makes it easier to paint.
Second impression - this will dig a whole in my wallet...
The boyz
All Kruleboyz are painted with acrylics (incl. metal paint & washes) from Green Stuff World. The bases where skipped and the boyz where places directely in the diorama.
Base and environment
I had in my mind a small diorama with the boyz, in a swamp, diffent level heights, and they are under attack. To tackle this, I first made a drawing, where the look-out tower would be the main focus / build. From this I made a simple cardboard version of the tower incl. stairs, so that it can be altered to match the scale size of the Boyz.
When I was happy with the size, I transfered the measurments to XPS foam and built the tower. The base is cellular plastic.

The Hanging man
In the sketch I made, I wanted to have a skeleton in a small cage, hanging under the look-out tower. I was not really sure how to create this, so I started to 3D print diffent type of skeletons and cages to get a look and feel of how to realize my idea. The skeleton was a hassle to print, they are super thin and broke very easily, but I managed to get almost a full skeleton (miss one foot, but has three arms... haha).
The 3D printed cage was not good at all, so I scratched built it instead in plasticard (grate in the bottom is a spare part from the Irene Leroi diorama). Used GSW Rust Textures to "roughen" it up, then acrylic paint and washes.
