Alya Bar
Alya Bar 2021 July
I really loved the figurines from the Master Box series “At the Edge of the Universe. Strange Company's adventures. Episode I. The First meeting”, so I acquired them all to just paint them individually, but ended up making a full bar for all eight of them: BungeeBgala (Bgala) & Boomer, Jacqueline – Grifter, Ivet & Robie, Anton, Drag & Joker. I think the trigger to build a complete diorama was that I wanted to make a better bar chair for Jacqueline…
The name Alya comes from Agents of Shield, where Alya Fitz is the daughter of Leo Fitz and Jemma Simmons, and Alya is named after Jemma Simmons' favorite star in the constellation Theta Serpentis. So why not build a Star Bar.

How it started
I didn’t like the bar chair that came along the kit for Jacqueline – Grifter, and I have just gotten my Anycubic Photon S resin printer, so I thought I would find some cool spacey 3D model, and I ended up with the same type of chair we have at home… I also found a rounded bar that I liked, but as I was totally new in 3D modelling, I didn’t know how to split the model as it didn’t fit the printer. So I printed out the shelves and made the base of the bar out of XPS foam.
With the size of the bar, I could now calculate the size of the bar (facility) and how to incorporate all figurines.
Now I start to print out tables, chairs, shelves, jukebox, bottles, glasses and an altered Arcade Machine (slimmed it down in Blender as it was to bulky).
The base
With wood boards as floor and three walls, I had an open room to work with. For the floor I used balsa wood and stained it. The outside of the walls, I made a brick design in thin foam which was then glued to the wood walls. The front is made of acrylic plates to mimic sliding glass doors.
Inside interior is golden plastic sheets, where the sides have a black anti-floor mat as a coverage.
Interior & Details
I hade printed out shelves where I could add bottles and glasses, but I lacked something – an addition “back” bar counter with sink and beer/soda cooler and employee doors. The bar counter I made from XPS foam, not the prettiest, but good enough. Made a built in LED in the cooler, and with a glass door. The tap to the sink was 3D printed.
The Jukebox and Arcade Machine were 3D printed in transparent resin, which made it possible to add LEDs, so the screens would be lighten up.
I also added LED to the rounded bar & the small roof in the back of the diorama. Beer taps were also added (3D prints)
Figurines
The painting of the eight figurines was a blast (Master Box is good quality), but I lacked something… a bartender. Found one with help of the hobby community and printed out the four-armed bartender.
